It has been an insane week of holiday preparation around these parts!!
We started out last Wednesday by suiting up in full rain gear to gather a van load of greens for the 100+ centerpieces due out for Thanksgiving. With a winter storm warning in the near future we had to rush and get all of our outside ingredients collected before temperatures plummeted and the task became impossible. It was a freezing day filled with wet everything, frozen fingers and exhausted kids. But we managed to get it all done!
My dear friend Mary Anne let us pull out the chain saw and “prune” some of her trees. Here at home Jasper and I braved the 10ft. orchard ladder and lopped down piles and piles of Cedar and Juniper.
Earlier in the week I ordered the most exquisite Roses from Peter Kort Roses in Portland , Oregon. They are delicate, fragrant and sustainably grown !
This red Rose, ‘Piano’ was to die for !
Peppers from our greenhouse made every bouquet sparkle. I thought this was a lost crop since none of the fruit ripened during our main sales season. But when I peeked in the the hoop last week low and behold these were waiting to be harvested. So fun!
